Writing: Entering the German digital market (tips, mistakes etc.)
This is a pillar page, a guideline for businesses – especially SaaS, eCommerce, B2B, D2C – for entering the German market, especially regarding "how to go local".
The German market can seem daunting, but with the necessary information, a bit of help from experts, and following a few general rules, it becomes much easier. This guide is meant to answer initial questions and point its readers in the right direction.
Localization of an energy savings tool from English to German
Youreko is an energy savings tool for white goods used online to compare cost and energy efficiency of different models.
The main challenges of the project were:
– strings with lots of variables/placeholders; you not only need to know the grammar pitfalls between languages but also how the relevant coding works
– local differences regarding categories, sizes, etc. of white goods
Translation of a language learning app (UI, ads etc.) from English to German
This app teaches vocabulary and grammar through gamification.
My work:
– translation of UI, content, and marketing (social media advertising, app store optimization & search ads)
– providing guidance on essential aspects of the German market, including SEO, payment systems, customer expectations, and regulatory compliance
